  1. How far is it to the beach?
    It is only a twelve-minute walk to the beach and the Mauna Lani Beach Club.  The path is paved and easy even with little ones.
  2. What if something goes wrong in the home or I need help?
    Not a problem!  We have a local concierge, JT Alexander of Haku Hana ‘O Hale, who is there nearby the resort. So call her from the phone in the home. She has the home’s numbers programmed into her phones to recognize your call. She will work to resolve the problem immediately.  A problem free and enjoyable vacation is our highest priority.  So help is very close, 24/7. And we have a working relationship and accounts with all types of local vendors - from electricians and plumbers to appliance and HVAC vendors.
  3. What if we need a crib or high chair?
    We have several Graco, Pack and Plays as well as high chairs.  Just let us know in advance so we can make sure they are available for you.

  4. What if I need an early check in or late check out?
    Please read our policy on this. And remember to call our local concierge, JT Alexander of Haku Hana ‘O Hale, who is there nearby the resort. or email her at HakuHanaOHale@aol.com when you inquire 3 days before check out.

  5. What forms of payment do you take?
    We prefer your personal check, but we will also take Visa or MasterCard.  We do not accept certified checks, cashier checks or money orders.  Reservations for stays less than 30 days from arrival require payment by Visa or Master Card.

  6. When are my payments due?
    Your first payment, the reservation deposit is due upon making your reservation.  Then the second payment, the balance of all unpaid rent, cleaning fees, taxes and the security deposit, is due 60 days before arrival.
  7. Is there a discount on golf available if we stay in your home?
    Yes, it is a significant discount from the street rates and currently only around $10 more than if you were staying in the resort hotel.  See Discounted Golf Rates.
  8. If we stay in your home, what amenities of the resort are available to us?
    Almost everything available to the resort hotel guests is available to our guests.  You may not swim in the hotel pools or use their Fitness Center facilities….  but we have a great Pool and small Fitness Center.  All other amenities of the resort are available free or for a fee.
  9. We have never been to the Big Island, what are some of the things we can do beside the beach or golf?
    There are weeks of great adventures to be had on the Big Island.  Unless you are staying for a month, you will barely scratch the surface.  We have a guidebook in the home on the kitchen counter, which is the very best for the Big Island.  You may want to consider getting it before you come.  It is Hawaii, The Big Island Revealed by Andrew Doughty.  It is also available as an App for you smartphone.
  10. Are your availability calendars up to date?
    There is a 99% probability that the calendar is current.  So if the home is showing available, it is most likely available.
  11. What if we need more space than you have currently available?
    I serve on the board of directors of the Palm Villas homeowners association as the Vice-President and Treasurer and have an excellent working knowledge of both our complex and the other owners.  I usually can recommend some other owners homes if ours are full or you need additional space.
